Decommissioned in 2012, the Big Met A Stock trains ran for
half a century. Painted and buffed frequently from the 1980s onwards at Wembley
Park, Neasden and Rickmansworth, amongst other places, the design by W S Graff-Baker has
now been replaced by the S Stock series which continues to run today. Graff-Baker
died almost a decade before his design came to fruition in 1961 as
electrification of the lines brought forth the need for the new trains. The A stock
was the only line on the Underground that had dedicated space for luggage racks
and umbrella hooks inside its carriages.
Chrome & Black bring you the opportunities to relive
times past with a dedicated train pad to sketch and design pieces on. Possibly
the closest the thing you’ll ever get now to a contemporary runner on the now
retired stock this product contains 25 pages to represent.
